Astrology
Astrology is in essence a language describing time. Understanding how to read it can uncover a map which can show many things, but most importantly it can describe our psyche.
What we think influences our physical actions, which in turn influences the outside world’s response to us. A birth chart is a picture of both external events and internal potential. Becoming aware of our cosmic programming can help us direct the outcome in a way that benefits us.
Life sometimes feels like a labyrinth. Navigating towards something or away from something. Finding our way out or our way in can be complicated, especially when we have our own personal mazes within us.
We all contain multiplicities and contradictions, conflicting priorities and confusing desires. How we think doesn’t always align with our style of attachment, what makes us feel comfortable isn’t necessarily in tune to what we want to do. It’s a complicated inner topography. The psycho-geographical map which astrology describes shows our deepest valleys and highest mountains. Which are the objectives worth visiting, which are the places you need special gear for? Those are all answers we can find.
My services focus primarily on psychological counseling and personal growth, using a combination of Hellenistic and Archetypal astrology techniques with the aim of reducing internal conflict. Though it might seem simple, self-understanding leads directly to self-acceptance. If we are aware of the good and bad parts of ourselves, we can work towards integrating and making them function to our advantage.
While I try to stay away from rigid predictions, I can pinpoint the moments when there is intensified activity in specific areas of a person’s life which are seen in the form of transits. Becoming aware of these is like having a detailed map for a journey and can help, if not avoid obstacles then plan accordingly so we can work around them.
As Seneca put it:
“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
Preparation, Expectation and Prices
As a form of preparation for astrological counseling I will need your birth data: precise date, time, and location.
If you are not sure what you want, my default M.O. is doing a general reading and a little bit of what you should be aware of for the upcoming year, but I generally advise booking two sessions a couple of weeks apart for in-depth understanding of the chart.
For returning clients I generally discuss upcoming transits or profections and can also offer remediation methods in some cases.
Since every person has different needs, what will happen during the appointment differs, but there are a few things to keep in mind.
Much like psychotherapy, a birth chart reading is rarely a one time thing.
Since we are very complex beings, our birth charts are also intricate. Our “coding” can express itself in a multitude of ways, and while I am able to determine things by spending a long time looking at a chart, this can be solved much faster by simple questions, so the consultations will always involve some questions from my side.
A common misconception is the expectation that the whole time will be used only on a monologue. Remember that what you are paying for is not the amount of knowledge per hour, but the time we spend having a conversation. If you would like to reduce the time spent on basic explanations, I encourage prior research and I will gladly clarify any information you have read or that you have questions about.
My current rate is €80 or $90 for a one hour session. The rate includes my the prep time I do prior to our appointment. The time can be reduced according to individual needs, but I don’t recommend doing longer sessions than that, as it is a lot of information to process.
If you are in doubt at any point, you are welcome to contact me through the form in the Consultations section.
Tarot
Tarot is arguably less deductive than astrology, but it’s also a lot faster to use.
I am a firm believer in the idea that the intelligent force driving the universe can guide us in many ways through different signs. To paraphrase L.M. DuQuette staring long enough and anything can make us see everything, from a piece of newspaper thrown on the street to a flashing ad on the street.
However, the longer people imbue an idea or symbol with meaning, the stronger it becomes, so naturally using a system which has a couple of centuries of tradition behind it makes it easier to understand the possibilities described, than decoding bird formations in the sky.
In short, the deck of Tarot is a picture of the Universe at different stages.
It is split into 22 Major Arcana cards representing the primary archetypes, and 56 Minor Arcana further divided into 4 suits representing different stages of the primary elements: Fire, Water, Air, Earth. These elements correspond to different areas of our lives and their phases. In a way, it’s as if the Major Arcana are words, while the Minor Arcana are sentences. Put together, they can portray particular moments of our lives, like stills of a movie.
Seeing these circumstances from a broader perspective can help us in taking steps in the right direction and advise us when facing difficult decisions.
What to expect and how to prepare
For tarot readings, since there is no prior calculation needed the only preparation you have to make is knowing what you want to ask.
Just keep in mind that while the cards offer the answers to certain outcomes, they are not meant to exempt you of choice and responsibility, or magically offer a solution to your problems. They are meant as diagnostic tools, helping you in understanding the holistic or objective perspective. Ultimately it must be you who makes the changes and takes the decisions.
